Happy New Year! We’re in day two of the new year and I’ve kept up with a tradition that I started about four years ago. At that time, I decided not to have New Year’s resolutions. This wasn’t a way to be negative, but more of a way to recognize that I’m horrible at keeping resolutions. It may be because I create outlandish ones that I can’t even start, or because the excitement of starting something new disappears for me after the third day. Either way, I stopped the list of resolutions and opted to focus on one thing that I could really accomplish. It’s worked well for me and this year is no different. Well, it’s a bit different in that I’d love for you to join in (if you so choose). So here’s the goal . . .
READ 52 BOOKS THIS YEAR! Okay, that may sound like too much. How about this: READ AS MANY BOOKS AS YOU CAN! Better? See, I started the 52 books club challenge, which is to read 52 books in a year, but they have a caveat: if that’s too much, read as many as you can. Just read. You can read traditionally (eyes to paper), or via a Kindle or even an audiobook. There are even prompts in which to choose books. For someone who loves literature, this is the perfect challenge for me. However, if you’ve been trying to read more anyway, this may be the challenge for you.
If it’s not, try a challenge that suits you. It may be running, redecorating, taking a class, or learning a new skill. Either way, choosing the right challenges that align with your interests is a perfect way to start the New Year. Okay, I’m going to head back to my book and I’ll let you know what it is when I’m finished. Oh, and in honor of the recent two that we’ve lost (whose books I have), here are two books I can recommend:
